This half-term, our topic is Festivals and Celebrations! This week we have celebrated Fireworks Night and Diwali.
We found out who Guy Fawkes was and when the Gunpowder Plot took place. We have also been finding out about the Hindu Festival of Light- Diwali.

In maths we have been exploring circles and triangles. We went on a walk to look for circles and triangles in the school grounds!

We had a visit from the School Nurses. They talked to us about healthy food and how to make healthy food choices. We looked at how many cubes of sugar there are in different foods and drinks!

Identifying and continuing a repeating pattern.

Our champion of the week!

Printing using leaves and other objects! We mixed ’autumn colours and then experimented with printing shapes and patterns to make autumn leaves for our display!🍁🍂🍁🍂

Exploring Time!

Time to Shine!🪥🪥🪥😬😬😬 We brush our teeth after lunch every day, for 2 minutes! We watch the ‘Hey Duggee’ toothbrushing song whilst we brush!

We explored sycamore seeds. We threw them in the air and watched them float to the ground! Then made our own paper sycamore seeds!

Week 4 (23-27.9.24)

This week started off very wet, so our cricket PE session with Abbi from ‘Chance to Shine’ was in the classroom! We set up a ‘crazy golf course with a twist’ in the classroom! We were in teams and had to take turns to throw the bean bag in the hoop! It was great fun and gave us all a really good opportunity to practise our under-arm throwing skills!

Our champions of the week!

Week 3 16-20.9.24

This week we have been reading ‘The Colour Monster’ and talking about what makes us feel happy. We explored mixing primary colours to make new colours! On Monday, we had PE with Abbi from Hereford Cricket Club’s “ Chance to Shine” programme. We practised our throwing and catching skills. On Tuesday afternoon we watched a production of ‘Oliver Twist’ which was really exciting! We loved the songs!

We have also been learning to play some fun maths games- ‘Spotty Dogs’ and ‘Lucky Ducky’ this week, to practise taking turns as well as counting and recognising numbers.
