Some children have asked for the recipes for the yummy things we cook at Forest School.  Here are a few...

Cheese and chive/wild garlic scones

• 225g plain flour/ self raising

• 1 teaspoon baking powder

• 100g butter, cubed

• 1 spring onion/chives/wild garlic, finely sliced

• 75g cheddar cheese, grated

• 1 large egg, beaten

• 1-2 tablespoons milk (you may need more)

Rub together butter and flour. Add cheese and chives. Add egg and milk to form dough. Roll out to 1cm thick and cut. Cook for 4 mins (2 mins each side) on med-high heat.

2 1/2 tsp fast acting yeast

3/4 cup of warm milk

2 1/2 cups of flour

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup oil

2 small eggs

1/2 tsp cinnamon

4tsp sugar

Mix together to form a dough and leave to prove for an hour.  Roll out small pieces in to flat ovals the shape of a beavers tail!  Shallow fry on a medium/high heat for a few minutes each side until it has puffed up and golden brown.  Pat off excess oil and coat in cinnamon sugar.
