Climate Action Plan
As a school community, we believe it's crucial to look after our world for future generations. Our Climate Action Plan isn't just a document - it's a commitment to making real, meaningful changes that will help our planet. We're passionate about teaching our pupils the importance of environmental responsibility and showing them how small actions can make a big difference.
We're keen to engage our entire community in this important mission. This means involving not just our pupils, but also parents, staff, and local community members. We'll be introducing various initiatives throughout the year that will help us reduce our carbon footprint and become more environmentally conscious.
Our pupils will be at the heart of these efforts. They'll be learning about sustainability, participating in eco-projects, and developing skills that will help them become responsible global citizens. From recycling programmes to energy-saving challenges, we're making environmental education both fun and meaningful!

What the school already does that makes a difference:
- Recycling most materials e.g. paper, card, plastics, etc
- Washroom taps are push/self closing taps
- Urinals flush with timers/sensors
- When lights need replacing they are replaced with LED lights
- Food waste is collected and sent for recycling
- Garden waste is recycled
- Forest School area is well developed and curriculum has planned progression for pupils, including caring for the environment. Bug hotels are in several places throughout Forest School
- Produce used in our kitchen is sourced locally wherever possible
- Parents encouraged to walk to school, car share
- We recycle school uniform either for other parents or part of a recycling scheme
- EYFS class have cold weather curtains to minimise energy loss to outdoor classroom
- Considerate use of AI (which is a heavy energy user)
- Technology devices have timers so they switch off when not in use
