Personal Social Health and Economic Education. (PSHE)
PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) education is an opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes children need to manage their lives, now and in the future. At Lea Primary School children learn ways to stay healthy and safe through role play, decision making and controlled risk taking. In class we follow the 1Decision scheme, but this is supported and enhanced through Forest Schools, visiting specialists, whole school adventures, residential trips and much more. PSHE prepares children for life and work.
Forest School
Forest School aims to develop key skills such as self-esteem, independence, self discover, teamwork, problem solving, enquiry and that learning is fun! Also, through exploration at Forest school they will have the opportunity to develop their resilience, decision making and emotional intelligence. Finally, Forest School gives them the chance to develop their nature connection and thinking how they can protect our amazing wild spaces.
Key PSHE Curriculum Documents
- Please note, the PSHE and RSHE policy is currently in draft form and reflects our move to 1Decision as our main scheme of work for our PSHE lessons for Year 1 to 6 as well as reflecting the new DfE guidance regarding the teaching of RSE.
